ASKO Dishwashers Recalled Due to Fire Hazard – September 2019
What Was Recalled
ASKO dishwashers manufactured by ASKO Distribution North America LLC with serial numbers listed in the chart have been recalled. They sold about 26,600 defective units exclusively at ASKO North America authorized dealers nationwide from October 2016 through July 2019 for between $1,000 and $2,200.
Why Was It Recalled
The dishwasher power cord can overheat, posing a fire hazard. There were 53 reports of the power cord overheating, but no property damage has been reported, and thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
How to Identify The Recalled Product
The recalled dishwashers come in stainless steel with customizable doors and handles, and each is about 24 inches wide, 22 inches deep and between 32 and 35 inches tall. ASKO is printed in the front and in the center on the top dish rack. Model and serial numbers are printed on the left side of the dishwasher door opening.
