Hey, this is Jon with Two Moose Home Inspections, and welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions Series.

Today’s video will center around the services that Two Moose Home Inspections can offer during a home inspection.

The inspection of your home will be documented in an inspection report that includes photos, videos and narratives describing the deficiencies that were found. The report is hosted on the cloud which means that you can reference your report from your computer or cellphone. The report can also be saved as a PDF or printed for archival storage. 

In addition to the visual inspection, each home inspection includes thermal and 360 images. Thermal images show differences in temperature which can sometimes help us diagnose missing insulation or water leaks. 360 images allow you to explore the home remotely which is helpful if you are buying a house from out of state, and the 360 images also document the condition of the house before furniture and belongings are moved out. Sometimes walls get damaged, or expensive smart devices that are required to operate critical systems such as the heat are taken by the previous owner.

If your house isn’t on a public water supply, we can perform a well quantity test to make sure that the well is able to produce enough water for your family’s needs. If the well isn’t able to produce enough water, the fix is often times very expensive, and that is why you want to know before you purchase the house.

Radon is a colorless odorless radioactive gas that is in every house. The question that should be asked is how much gas is in your house and how far above or below the Environmental Protections Agency’s action level is the gas accumulation. A minimum 48-hour radon test will answer that question.

Many home inspectors don’t go on roofs because roofs are dangerous and no home inspector is required to be on a roof, but at Two Moose Home Inspections we use safety equipment and years of experience to safely inspect the roofs of most all single-family homes. When there is snow, ice, or water on the roof it is unsafe to climb onto the roof, additionally some roofing materials are easily damaged and should not be walked on. For these reasons the roof walking service may not always be available. Luckily with the use of a 360 camera, we can still provide a quality visual inspection of the roof and the roof penetrations while staying safe on the ground.
